3 plays

This is a recording of me reading my story Twilight at Carbon Lake. It was recorded on June 25th, 2010 as a little experiment. It’s not perfect (though, of course, a large part of me saying that is because I don’t exactly like my own voice, and I’m also not a huge fan of my acting abilities), and I blew out the mic a few times in the second half (sorry) but I like to think it provides some more perspective on the story.

Enjoy.

A Few Changes

There have been a few changes here at This City.

  • A brand new theme for your reading pleasure.
  • A new attitude. I’m less worried about being absolutely professional and more worried about being interesting. Expect more music and art that inspires me. I want This City to represent me a little better - not just the creative side of me, but the side of me that consumes media, too, so hopefully that’ll work out.
  • You can ask me questions now! Hit the ask button in the sidebar and I’ll do my best to answer you.
  • To mark these changes, I posted an updated version of the first thing I ever wrote for this site: Twilight at Carbon Lake.

I hope everyone enjoys.

People Who Should Still Be Alive

This is a list of people I wish I could’ve met. I was alive when they were alive, but I didn’t have the time or the resources, and that just about kills me.

  • David Foster Wallace
  • Douglas Adams
  • Kurt Vonnegut
  • J.D. Salinger

Knowing that I’m very young and that this very short list will turn into a very long one is sort of really awful.

So yeah, I haven’t updated in like ages.

Couple reasons for that.

  1. No one reads this.
  2. Nothing is happening with me creatively.

Fascinating, I know.

In any case, you can still find me at my personal blog, where I whine about some shit (including my ex-girlfriend and the play I auditioned for), and fawn over some shit (including Nine Inch Nails and Kevin Fanning).

I don’t really have any projects coming up - actually, that’s not true. I should be starting an episodic video podcast with Jamie soon, and Drew wants to work on something too, so we’ll see how that goes.
